Brkač is a small village in northern or Green Istria. It counts only around 100 inhabitants. Its Italian name is San Pancrazio di Montona, meaning Saint Pancras of Motovun – which shows the village gravitated towards this nearby medieval town. Brkač has archaeological findings from prehistoric times as well as the antiquity and the first written records of the place are dated in 12th century. Its inhabitants are traditionally farmers and recently also engaged in agrotourism.
