Sošići is a village only a few kilometers in the near of Rovinj, one of the most valued cities on the Croatian tourist map. Rovinj is the only Croatian city that made it to the newest National Geographic book 'Destinations of a Lifetime: 225 of the world's most amazing places', so even the editors of this world famous edition recognized Rovinj's potential. The old city core has many sightseeing attractions, most from the medieval times while the city was under the rule of Venice. The most prominent in Rovinj is the 18th century church of St. Euphemia. Besides the monuments, Rovinj has a beautiful nature, for example the nature park Punta Corrente is suitable for families to enjoy the sea, vegetation, sport, entertainment and leisure possibilities, especially in the warm summer months. Lim Bay is a truly attractive location, with the rich wildlife in and outside the sea. This is the longest sea channel of the Adriatic that's appealing to the visitors coming by boats or by cars. Right above the road entrance to the Bay there is a cave with prehistoric remains, but mostly famous for its resident, hermit Romualdo, who lived there in the beginning of the 10th century. The middle part of the canyon, which can be approached only by boat, holds a Viking village, that's actually 1960 Hollywood movie scenery. And if you get tired of exploring the bay's attractions, you can sit in one of the two Lim Bay restaurants and enjoy the authentic Istrian meals they offer. The remains of Dvigrad stand above the Lim Valley as a reminder of this once inhabited town that was destroyed in wars during the 17th century and completely abandoned. This place is often one of the favorite tourist excursion stops.
